- First Ever Online Fundraising App that runs entirely inside Facebook -
Rapidata Services, today launched the Friendship Powered Fundraising™ App for Facebook to the UK market. It is the first ever event fundraising app that runs entirely within Facebook, the online community that over 1 billion friends around the world call home.
The Friendship Powered Fundraising (FPF) App leverages the power of friends to help supporters fundraise within Facebook for their sponsored event campaigns – walks, runs, cycle rides, challenge events, etc. Once registered for an event supporters can share information about fundraising targets, accept donation payments, track progress and post updates and pictures about the events on the familiar timeline; all with just a few clicks and without ever having to leave Facebook.
The FPF App has been created by Rapidata’s technology partner Artez Interactive, a Canadian-based global leader in multi-platform online fundraising solutions. CEO and Chairman of Artez Interactive, James Appleyard says, “Now charity supporters can maximize the power of friendship to reach greater goals in their fundraising. Unlike other products that simply link to and from Facebook, our app is inside so you never have to leave the familiarity of Facebook. Our app is also first to be integrated across multiple channels, and it works perfectly on your mobile, tablet or desktop device.”
Charities today need a wide range of fundraising tools to reach donors and create compelling and successful campaigns that achieve change. Supporter participation and conversion rates go up in runs, walks and challenge events when fundraising becomes easy and accessible.
Scott Gray, Managing Director of Rapidata says, “UK charities are some of the most forward thinking in terms of embracing the power of online and social media driven fundraising. This year there are 30.6million Facebook users in the UK, and with an equal gender split and an age demographic spanning teenagers to pensioners (14million over forty), the platform lends itself to Friendship Powered Fundraising. The FPF app is unique in that a charity’s supporters never have to leave the intimacy of Facebook, not even for donation payments, making it so simple, seamless and complete. Supporters are empowered and in control of their own fundraising.”
The Soldier’s Charity supports soldiers, former soldiers and their families in the UK and operates an extensive events fundraising programme. The charity already focuses on online and mobile fundraising for its events, including its annual endurance hike, the Cateran Yomp, which last year experienced 71% of participants actively fundraising online. “The new app is an exciting development for us and our supporters,” says Steve Oatley, National Event Executive at The Soldier’s Charity, “We haven’t been able to do this type of Facebook fundraising before and we’re really looking forward to seeing a big lift to our fundraising income by enabling our event participants to raise money from friends and family in this way.”
Appleyard adds, “Charities need a seamless system of technology and functionality across multiple platforms. More importantly, The Friendship Powered Fundraising App redefines the way charities fundraise – completely mobile and social.”
