The challenge was to walk on fire, the charity was the Fawcett Society and the insane volunteers from Rapidata were Robin Packman, Jodie Hinksman and me! Jodie and I arrived at the docklands watersports centre and as we approached we smelt burning. The fear of the challenge ahead became overwhelming when we turned the corner to face ferocious flames and a fireman filling up buckets of water. We later discovered these were needed to cool our feet in!

Many of our clients are providing assistance and relief to the people of Haiti following the earthquake on the 12th January.
The web is an important direct response channel. The Burma Cyclone Appeal saw 42% of donations come through online*. Online means the money gets to the charity quicker so they can use the money immediately.
If your charity is involved in fundraising for the Haiti relief effort, we are on call to support you in your emergency donation appeals during this time.

We’ve now saved 13.2 trees!
Back in September I wrote about how Rapidata, through recycling, had managed to save 8.4 trees. Three months, and lots more recycling later, we’ve saved 13.2! I’ve drawn a festive illustration so you can put it into perspective!

The recent postal strikes have caused many Not-for-Profits to worry about the effect that this will have on their Direct mail campaigns. Christmas appeals are about to be sent out but there can be no guarantee that they will arrive in time.
