We wanted to know more about how our charities use the Artez system so we spoke to Caroline Wright, Head of Events at the Prince’s Trust about the Palace to Palace event:
What is the Palace to Palace event?
Palace to Palace is a bike ride which is now in its fourth year. It is a scenic ride from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle and takes in Richmond Park. In the first year Palace to Palace had 750 riders and it is our aim this year to achieve 3000 riders.
Why did you decide to use the Artez system?
We wanted to move our registration process online for this year’s event to make it easier for us and for the participants to register. Artez offered us a simple way of registering participants, but also were able to help us introduce the fundraising element at the registration stage making it easier for participants to raise money for the event.
How have you promoted the event?
Promotion for the event has been through Magic 105.4 FM, posters in Starbucks, Big Smoke free postcodes in bars and restaurants, partners websites and email broadcasts to past participants and Prince’s Trust mailing list.
How successful has the Palace to Palace been so far?
This year Palace to Palace is doing very well and we are almost at the number of participants that we achieved last year with another 7 weeks to go so we are well on our way to achieving a total of 3,000 riders.
Do you have any other comments?
Participants seem to have found the signing up process much simpler than last year and the reports are good and easy to pull off. The support that we have had from the staff at Rapidata has been excellent.
It’s great to have feedback from our charities and hear how they’ve made their events work, so thanks for talking to us Caroline. I hope other charities are inspired by the success of this event.
