Bacs bogus report emails

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION FROM BACS

Bacs has advised on their website that there are fake emails being circulated to mimic the automated reports from the Payment Services website. These emails are bogus and any attachments should not be opened.

How to spot a bogus email?

  • they DO NOT state your Service User Number
  • They DO NOT state your Service User Name
  • They contain an attachment – DO NOT OPEN

Payments Council to keep cheques and cancels 2018 target

The Payments Council announced on 12th July 2011 that cheques will continue for as long as customers need them and the target for possible closure of the cheque clearing in 2018 has been cancelled. New Mobile Fundraising App opens channel for UK charities

Bacs Launches a Direct Debit app

Bacs has just launched a new iPhone app called the ‘Direct Debit Control Centre’. The app is designed to help allow users to keep track of their finances. The app allows the user to see the amount of each Direct Debit and the date it’s scheduled to leave their bank account. The automatic reminder feature can be scheduled ahead of a Direct Debit coming out so users can ensure they always have sufficient funds in their bank account.
