Rapidata is delighted to be supporting Bacs with ‘The Big Break’ direct debit campaign to help raise much needed money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
For the month of March, Rapidata will be making a donation for every new direct debit Instruction setup.
Bacs, the people behind Direct Debit in the UK, is running a nationwide marketing campaign in 2012, called the Big Break. As your bureau, we felt it important to bring this to your attention so that you can take advantage of the materials and central support on offer; all developed by Bacs’ experienced marketing team.
As well as converting supporters or customers to payment by Direct Debit – which is estimated to have an average cost saving of £10 per year per customer over paper-based payments – the campaign is also aiming to raise a substantial sum of money for charity along the way.
From January to June 2012, the Big Break campaign offers consumers who convert to paying by Direct Debit the chance to win their very own Big Break – a sizeable prize of £10,000 – as well as gaining all the benefits of paying by Direct Debit. Businesses are also being targeted to gain the benefits of paying regular bills by Direct Debit.
Bacs is offering free campaign materials – mailings, online ads and logos – to help you promote payment by Direct Debit to your customer base, whether that’s businesses or consumers. In addition, the company will promote the Big Break both nationally and regionally through PR and social media, and will advertise all participating organisations on their central campaign website.
All Bacs asks in return is for participating organisations to pledge a one-off donation to charity for each customer converting to Direct Debit. With that estimated efficiency saving of £10 per annum for a customer switching to monthly payment by Direct Debit, Bacs is asking billers to pledge a small proportion of this to the charity of your choice or, alternatively, to Bacs’ chosen charity Marie Curie Cancer Care
Bacs ran a similar campaign in 2011, and it proved a huge success for all those that took part – campaign response rates of up to 12.7%, a 5.4% increase in its Direct Debit base for one biller and, in one case, an uplift against previous response rates of 169%. The campaign raised an impressive £150,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, enabling the charity to provide an extra 7.500 hours of much needed nursing care.
