RBS NatWest System Failure

Rapidata has received a number of enquiries from our clients who are concerned about their Direct Debit submissions and unpaid items following the recent technical failure affecting RBS , Ulster and NatWest Banks. We have contacted Bacs and the RBS NatWest teams and have been advised the following:

With regard to the RBS NatWest system failure last week, the Bacs system for processing Direct Debits has been unaffected.  This means all submissions will have been accepted successfully and will be being processed as per normal.  For customers of NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank , Direct Debits that have been submitted are being processed as per normal with the majority of cases experiencing no delay at all.  However, due to a backlog there is a possibility that some submissions will be delayed and we cannot say at this time how long that might be.  Any delayed Direct Debits will not be rejected and will remain in the system until they are fully processed. There is no need to resubmit.

At Rapidata, we have not experienced any delays or submissions errors and as mentioned in the above comment, do not expect there to be any issues affecting our clients.
