Money, Marathons and Cakes!
This year, two members of our Client Services team at Rapidata have been frantically training to compete in both the London and the Brighton marathons to raise money for a close felt cause.
We are in awe, truly. And we’re very proud to announce that Bridget completed the Brighton Marathon in less than 4 hours and in London last weekend, Chrlotte’s valiant efforts were thwarted by injury…but she’s officially deferred to next year’s marathon!
Both have chosen to devote their efforts to raising money for The Dystonia Society, as sadly one of Charlotte’s close friends was diagnosed with the condition at the age of 22.
Obviously, the whole Rapidata team was eager to help fundraise for this worthy cause and get behind Charlotte & Bridget. With a number of keen bakers amongst us, we decided to hold a cake sale in our office building. The cakes went down a storm and all sold out, raising more than £120.00!
Charlotte and Bridget themselves have done a fantastic fundraising job and to date have raised over £2,000 for The Dystonia Society.

The Dystonia Society provides vital support, advice and information for sufferers and their families and carers. Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder. Faulty signals from the brain cause muscles to spasm and pull on the body incorrectly. This forces the body into painful twisting, repetitive movements or abnormal postures. It is estimated to affect at least 70,000 people in the UK. Unfortunately, the cause of Dystonia is unknown and there is not yet a cure.
Well done Bridget and Charlotte!
